Thanksgiving 2026Every Sunday, for grandparents near and far

The Grandkid Gazette

A weekly newspaper about your kids, made for their grandparents.

You answer one text on Thursday. On Sunday, Nana and Pop open a two-page paper all about their grandkids: this week's photos, news, drawings, and a question just for them.

How it works

About two minutes of your week.

Thursday

We text you one question.

Gazette goes out Sunday! Reply with 2–3 photos and tell us: what made Leo laugh this week?

Answer with a few words or a voice memo. Send a photo of a drawing if there is one.

Your part: about 2 minutes
Saturday

You see a preview.

We build the paper from your photos, your family calendar, last week's answers from the grandparents, and puzzles made for your kids.

Reply OK, or tell us what to change. No reply means it's good to go.

Your part: one tap, or nothing
Sunday

It lands on their table.

It prints itself on their home printer Sunday morning, so the paper is waiting with the coffee. It also arrives on their iPad, phone or computer.

Every Sunday, even in a busy week.

Your part: nothing
How they read it

On paper, or on whatever they already use.

On paper

It prints at their house.

We set up their home printer once. Every Sunday morning the new paper is in the tray, ready to read with the coffee.

On an iPad or phone

It opens with one tap.

A phone-sized version they can scroll and zoom, with large print if they like. It works on an iPad, an Android tablet or any phone.

By email or online

It's in their inbox.

The paper arrives by email and opens in any browser from a private link. There's nothing to download and no app or password.

No printer? Mailed copies are available as an add-on.

What's inside

Two pages they'll read twice.

Page two of the Thanksgiving sample: the kid's reporter page with what she's thankful for, a boy in a leaf pile, a Thanksgiving word search, and a question for the grandparents

Your kid's page
Your child is the reporter. They answer three questions at dinner, and their words print in their own voice.
A question for the grandparents
Each week the kids ask Nana and Pop something. Their answers run in the next issue, so the grandparents write half the paper.
One year ago
A photo from the same week last year. Nobody has to dig for it.
This week and what's coming
Games, school days and visits, pulled from your family calendar, so they know what to ask about when they call.
Drawings, jokes and puzzles
The fridge art goes to the people who'll frame it, along with word searches and puzzles made for your kids' ages.
Why paper

Something to hold onto.

Group texts scroll away. Photo albums need an app and a password. A paper sits on the kitchen table, gets read with morning coffee, and ends up on the fridge.

It also arrives on its own every week. Grandparents stop waiting on photos, and parents stop feeling guilty about not sending them.

"Did you get my drawing, Nana?"

Kids learn their words and art are going somewhere that matters. That's usually what makes them ask to do it again.

This Thanksgiving

Bring it to the Thanksgiving table.

Join now and the grandparents' first paper can be a Thanksgiving Edition: what the kids are thankful for, who's bringing the pie, and a question to answer over dinner. Then it keeps coming every Sunday.

Questions

The details.

How much does it cost?

$12 a month per family after a free first month, for up to two grandparent editions. A year is $129. Mailed copies are $10 a month extra.

Who sees our photos?

Only the people you choose. Nothing is posted publicly, and you see every issue before it goes out.

Can it just print at their house?

Yes. We set up their home printer once, and every Sunday morning the new paper prints on its own. Nothing to open, click or download.

Do the grandparents need email?

No. It can print at their house or open from a private link on an iPad. Mailed copies are an add-on. They can answer their weekly question by phone, text or letter.

What about both sets of grandparents?

Each household gets its own edition, with its own question and photos that include them.

What if we have a busy week?

The paper still goes out. A quiet week runs the calendar, the year-ago photo, the grandparents' answers and the puzzles.

How old should the kids be?

Any age works. From about 3, kids can answer a question or make a drawing for their page.

What does it cost to print at home?

Two pages, once a week, on a printer they already have. If they don't have one, a basic printer costs about the same as a few months of stamps.
